St. Patrick's Parade draws big crowd, despite rain

About 600 people packed St. Patrick's Catholic Church this morning in preparation for the annual St. Patrick's Parade today. Macomb Township resident Rob Genslak and his wife, Deb, joined a caravan of six carloads of people for the 10:30 a.m. Mass. Genslak, 38, is going to make a full day of St. Patrick's festivities today with church, then food at the St. Patrick Senior Center before attending the parade.

Tests cast doubt on runaway Prius account

An initial investigation by federal safety investigators has raised questions of whether a highly publicized incident of a runaway Toyota Prius in California could have happened, saying they could not replicate it during testing.

Report: Lions trade for 49ers QB Shaun Hill

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said Friday his team was in no hurry to find a quarterback to back up starter Matthew Stafford. But the Sacramento Bee is reporting the Lions have pulled the trigger on a trade with the 49ers that will send quarterback Shaun Hill to Detroit for a seventh-round draft pick in 2011.

Detroit city employees discouraged from wearing strong scents

Detroit --City employees with a strong aroma of perfume, cologne or any scented products will soon be in for a warning. City officials have plans to place placards in three city buildings detailing scented products to avoid due to a settlement in a widely publicized federal lawsuit filed by a city planner in 2008 and settled last month.
