The Beatitudes - The Truth - The Answer

The beauty of a blog versus a website like The Michigan Business Directory ( http://www.michiganbusiness.us/ ), is that you are allowed to expose a bit of who you are. This is markedly different than a public website.

With that said, I cannot align my beliefs with a particular religion because I believe strongly that a religion - whether it be Jewish, Christian or Buddism only brings concrete realism to what we all know is true - that people are intrinsically good and only the Ego forces the conscious mind to react in ways that do not align with the intrinsic nature of humans.

A tongueful, I know. No matter what your religion, The Beatitudes reflect the core "goodness" of the human race.

The Latin word for blessed is beatus, from which we get the word beatitude.
The beatitudes are found at Matthew 5: 3-12
  • Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
  • Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth.
  • Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
  • Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
  • Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
  • Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

I am going to talk more about the Beatitudes in the morning -but sleep with a smile on your face - as these can only bring solace.

Beatitude is a possession of all things held to be good, from which nothing is absent that a good desire may want. Perhaps the meaning of beatitude may become clearer to us if it is compared with its opposite. Now the opposite of beatitude is misery.

Misery means being afflicted unwillingly with painful sufferings.

Wear Your Faith Coupons - 3:16- CLICK HERE!

3:16 The Numbers of Hope

I've heard so much about 3:16 lately that I had to do a bit of research
myself. Was it a new drug? Was it bad, good? Is 3:16 the
latest "gang" symbols?

Stop laughing.

I was happily surprised that 3:16 is just the latest fad reflecting upon the
oldest truth:

John 3:16 (chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel of John) is one of the most widely quoted verses from the Christian Bible. It has been called the "Bible in a nutshell", because it briefly (and accurately) summarizes the Christian faith.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

3:16 is "Off the Hook". For those of you my age, Off the Hook
means that is so "fresh" and "new", "cool" and "hip" that its literally right off the store shelf.

Kinda weird that an Old Boiler like me is talkin bout somethin new.
