Happy Thanksgiving! Shopping Deals are about to be Exposed- CLICK HERE!

This came across my desk this morning and I thought it worth sharing with you:

Triple Dip / Free Ship Deals at all GregRobert Stores

As we approach Black Friday and Cyber Monday, many online stores are offering free shipping, quantity discounts or percent off discounts – but none that we know of are offering all three types of discounts on one order. Please let your readers know that we are offering all three deals for consumers to Triple Dip.

Picture above is the Classy Solstice Bird Feeder - buy 3 of these and save over $20 with GregRobert's Triple Dip deals.

We’re calling our one-of-a-kind Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal combination – Triple Dip / Free Ship - and it is valid until December 17.

GregRobert is making the holidays even merrier by helping online shoppers save time and money, stay organized and feel secure. The Triple DIP, Free Ship deals are as follows:

  1. Quantity discounts were made available on every single GRpet.com product. Buy 2 and save, Buy 5 and save even more, buy 10 and save a bundle.

  2. Free shipping on orders >$60 with coupon: freeship (weight restrictions may apply) – but EVERY order >$60 you can save with the coupon.

  3. Finally, all orders >$100, save $10 with Google Checkout.

Starting November 24, 2009, Google Checkout buyers (old and new) can take advantage of exclusive discounts at BackyardStyle and all of our stores as they cross items off their holiday and Christmas shopping lists.

Established in 2002 and featuring over 20,000 products, GregRobert stores are nationally recognized for low prices on pet, pond, wild bird and garden supplies - but they also have an expansive selection of Christmas gifts, pet products and farming supplies.

Google Checkout users will be able to take advantage of significant holiday savings from BackyardStyle - a highly rated Google Checkout retailer. BackyardStyle is offering a $10.00 discount on any order greater than $100.00.

Each Google Checkout user can take advantage of the offer one (1) time across all of GregRobert (parent company of BackyardStyle) websites. This promotion begins Tuesday, November 24, 2009 4:00:00 PM EST and will end December 17, 2009.

In addition to the Google Checkout offer, visitors can use coupon code: freeship for free shipping on all orders > $60. If that were not enough, quantity discounts on every single product in the store were recently announced. Thus - TRIPLE DIP savings at BackyardStyle.

GregRobert Enterprises Launches Free Shipping with "Double Dip- Free Ship"- CLICK HERE!

November, 8, 2009

Two weeks is a charm. That's what GregRobert (parent company of a number of popular online retail stores including http://www.grpet.com/ and http://www.backyardstyle.com/) thinks. Two weeks earlier than last year, GregRobert has rolled out their best Free Shipping deal of the year - a full 14 days earlier than 2008's Free Shipping launch.
Shown to the right the Retro Birdhouse collection at BackyardStyle.com makes great gifts.

Using coupon code: freeship, visitors can take advantage of free shipping at each of GregRobert's stores. At the same time, GregRobert has expanded quantity discounts to include each and every product in stock. Dubbed "Double Dip Free Ship", early indicators show that the combination of offers will be a success this holiday season.

In a phased launch, GregRobert Pet Supplies was the first store to quietly roll out "Double Dip, Free Ship" on Friday, November 6th. http://www.farmgeneral.com/ and BackyardStyle.com were launched on Saturday and finally free shipping at RachelsRobin and RabbitMart.com occurred on or about noon today.

We were able to speak with Ray Joyce, CEO of GregRobert earlier today for a short interview:

The Michigan Business Directory: "Why did GregRobert choose such aggressive discounts so early in the season this year?"
Ray Joyce: "In a year where every penny counts, many people will start their holiday shopping online to find deals, search customer reviews to select products, and get gift ideas. We want to make sure that shipping costs do not deter them from buying online at any of our stores"

The Michigan Business Directory: "Any early indications regarding how your offers are being accepted?"
Ray Joyce: "48 hours after the launch of Double Dip-Free Ship at http://www.grpet.com/, we can confidently say that a quantifiable increase in sales has occurred."

The Michigan Business Directory: "How is GregRobert Enterprises able to offer quantity percents off and free shipping at the same time?"
Ray Joyce: "We have spent the last four months streamlining our operations and working with vendors to lower prices. We are ready to share this with our customers. There is no other way to lower prices and offer free shipping in this economy - cut out everything you possibly can."

Before hopping in the car to wander endlessly through strip malls and big-box stores - be sure to visit http://www.farmgeneral.com/ or http://www.backyardstyle.com/ or http://www.grpet.com/ to choose from over 20,000 products that can be shipped to you for free and at a discount to boot!

Coupon Code is: freeship (restrictions apply - see each website for details)

A pet owner's view: Tethered Dogs can be Trouble- CLICK HERE!

There's a beautiful, gentle dog who spends his entire life, winter and summer, at the end of a chain in his Farmington Hills, Michigan back yard and driveway. He's not dangerous or aggressive. In fact, he loves to play, cuddle, and go for walks – things that this particular dog rarely gets to do.

So the dog barks. And barks. And barks.

When dogs are bored, lonely and deprived of exercise, they resort to annoying behaviors like barking or destructive behaviors like digging, chewing or biting. Sadly, there are owners around that get rid of their dogs when they develop these habits, blaming the dog when their own neglect is at fault.

An adult dog can be as intelligent as a very young child. Imagine keeping a toddler apart from his family? Dogs that live on their dog chains are deprived of love and attention - only being thrown food once in a while, and then watching the door close shut again and again.

It's not so much being "chained up" that does the harm, it's the neglect. A lack of companionship, exercise and mental stimulation can lead to all sorts of problems in canines including depression, aggression, and anti-social behavior.
Use coupon code: googlerocks at http://www.grpet.com/ to purchase dog tieouts, cables and other supplies and save $5.00 on orders >$75.

An owner must realize that a backyard is not a babysitter. Dogs are social animals (pack animals) and more than anything, a dog wants to be with her family. Keeping dogs tethered or chained in backyards can be downright inhumane if they are tethered for long periods.

There are safety issues, also.
Tieouts can get tangled up, leaving dogs unable to reach food, water and shelter. Every once in a while, we hear of a dog left tied to the deck while his owners go away for an extended period of time. (sometimes you hear they are gone for days!) Dogs can jump over deck railing and hang themselves. And there are frequent reports of tethered dogs that get so frustrated, they attack innocent bystanders. If you must use a tieout occassionally for short periods - try using a tether like Secure Freedom. Secure Freedom was designed to give dogs an adequate amount of room to exercise while eliminating the chance of getting tangled up around a tree or other object, as can sometimes happen with traditional cables.

Some dogs really are dangerous and need to be restrained. But the ones who aren't can be kept happy, well-adjusted companions fairly simply: Play with them. Walk them. Or hire someone to exercise them. Make your pet part of your family by involving him/her in your daily activities.
FINALLY: if you see a dog being neglected or abused, report it to authorities.

Pampering our pets as we get older- CLICK HERE!

Giving to our pets as we did to our kids

As I watch my daughter's mature, I see the next generation of "pleasers". Falling into the role of pleasing teachers, coaches and peers - I watch my daughters slip easily into a common female pattern.

I am far from a feminist. Very comfortable in my role as caretaker, wife and mother, I am a strong believer that we were given these hormones (to love and care) for a reason - to ensure the survival of the human race.

I read a review of "The Female Brain" today and thought to myself: "What a genius Louann is" to articulate the complex innuendo's of the female thought process.

I will continue the deep thought process in another post, the point of this post was: When the kid's leave the nest, "Mom's" are shifting their pampering to dogs, cats and other pets. The pet industry is expanding by leaps and bounds as the US population ages. Hypothetically, the need to nurture was fulfilled by grandchildren in past generations. Women are having children later and later and not settling geographically close to thier parents. This removes a woman's ability to continue nurturing as she enter's her golden years.

Enter, kitty or puppy. Our spoiled dog, Ante prefers these treats:

Dingo Ringo 3 pack Irresistible real chicken breast rolled in natural rawhide in a novel ring shape. Gives your dog a healthy & fun way to exercise and clean their teeth.

Ante is spoiled, yes - but fulfills a instict need.
