LG Refrigerator Parts - Repairing my LG Refrigerator- CLICK HERE!

I have a fairly new LG refrigerator and was cleaning the door racks the other day - when one of them broke. I was extremely disappointed until I went to the LG website and found out how easy it is to get replacement parts for the LG Refrigerator.

The place that I eventually found the rack was Repair Clinic LG Parts - who had a huge number of replacement parts for all LG products:

A side note, at the LG website I took a look at the large number of manuals that they have online and found it easy to navigate the manuals, find my model and learn the RIGHT way to remove the door racks for cleaning.

First - the obvious - remove all the stuff in the rack and push the rack against the inside wall of the door and lift up the door rack. They also have cool diagrams that show the "Appliance Illiterates" like myself how do things.

LG Refrigerator Repair 101 - How does that sound for a new book ;)

While I was appliance fixin' surfin .. I found this list of ways to save money ... enjoy!

  • The location of the refrigerator is important. If possible, avoid placing the refrigerator next to the range, near a heating vent, or where it will receive direct sunlight.
  • Do not open the doors more often than necessary, and be sure to close the doors as soon as possible, particularly in hot, humid weather.
  • Be sure the doors close tightly.
  • Store only those foods requiring refrigeration in the refrigerator.
  • Wipe the moisture from bottles and cartons before putting them in the refrigerator.
  • Keep food covered to reduce moisture buildup inside the refrigerator.
  • If the controls are turned to the coldest position, for quick chilling or freezing, be sure to turn them back to the regular settings.
  • When loading the refrigerator, be careful not fill it so full that the air cannot circulate.
  • Clean the condenser coils regularly. Refer to the Owner's Manual for models specific instructions.

Appliance Parts- CLICK HERE!

Well, I did it again. Between my last post and now - I have thrown out my back.

The basement refridgerator started making funny noises, and I decided to "take a look at it" myself. We have an Amana Easy Reach Fridge - and I didn't get very far before I was walking like a hunchback.

I did a bit of research to save the back next time. Here is unvaluable advice before you start working on your next appliance fix-it job.
  • Always wear gloves. A sharp edge on an appliance can hurt and/or cut your hands.
  • Be sure to wear safety boots. You can cause injury to unprotected feet by dropping any heavy appliances or tools.
  • Don't wear loose clothing. Loose clothes can get caught in an appliance.
  • Remove any jewelry when servicing an appliance.
  • Tie your hair back to avoid getting it snagged in the wrong place
  • Wear safety glasses to guard your eyes from any dust or flying debris.
  • Use the proper tools and ensure that they are clean and in good condition.
  • Keep your work area well lit.
  • Use extreme caution when handling access panels
  • Don't put your hands into any section of the appliance that you have not visually inspected for sharp or jagged areas.
  • Make sure your work area is clean and free of water or oil spills.
  • When working with a friend or partner, communicate effectively.
  • Ask for help if you need to move a heavy object.
  • Lift heavy appliances with your leg muscles, not your back muscles.
