Cheer and Pom are in full swing and Dance tryouts were complete last week across Michigan High Schools. Here are quick notes on what's up in the Yoga, Dance and Cheer world:

The 2007 Mid American Dance & High Kick Championship at Eastern Michigan University took place yesterday and MLIVE is buzzing about the winners and losers. (Everyone is a winner though)

Requirements and General Information
High School Varsity Teams (grades 9-12) are eligible to compete in five categories:

Contemporary Pom (poms must be used)
Hip Hop (no poms allowed)
Jazz Technique (no poms allowed)
High Kick (no poms allowed)
Girl/Guy (poms optional; Varsity only)

Collegiate Teams: are eligible to compete in High Kick and/or Jazz Technique.

Elementary, Junior High and Junior Varsity are eligible to compete in High Kick and/or Dance categories.

All Star Teams will be classified according to age of the majority of their team members.
